Theron has been with Hildebrand Strategies since the firm opened in 2005. As part of the creative team at HS, Theron provides general strategic consulting and message development for candidate and issue campaigns across the country with a special emphasis on technology.
In addition to supporting the daily technology needs of the company he also provides technical consulting regarding website development and management, email marketing and data management for several Hildebrand Strategies clients.
A decade of experience in several specialty campaign areas allows Theron to bring both a breadth and depth of knowledge in delivering for our clients. Over the past 10 years Theron has worked with several key aspects of campaigns.
In 1998 Theron was a regional field director on Senator Daschle's re-election campaign. He served as the Deputy Research Director for Senator Tim Johnson's re-election in 2001-2002. Then, in 2003-2004, Theron added technology skills to his portfolio, running the entire technology effort of the $21 million Daschle re-election.
During the 2006 cycle he consulted the campaigns of U.S. Senators Sheldon Whitehouse, Robert Byrd and Kent Conrad on networking, website and email marketing. Theron also provided technical assistance to the South Dakota Campaign for Healthy Families in their successful effort to overturn South Dakota’s total ban on abortion and continues to consult for the organization.
In 2007 Theron assisted in the early stages of the Obama presidential campaign effort in Iowa setting up networking and phone infrastructure for the Iowa caucus.
In 2008 Theron worked as a Research Manager for the company applying his technological expertise to political and issue research and managing staff on several client research projects.
Theron holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from South Dakota State University.
